Director / Senior Manager of Logistics - Boulder, CO (on-site/hybrid)
Purely Elizabeth is seeking a highly motivated Director / Senior Manager of Logistics to lead logistics execution while driving continuous improvement across warehousing, transportation, inventory control, ecommerce fulfillment, and customer service. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring execution and ownership of key logistics processes and performance, and the ability to manage 3PLs to drive business results. The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical skills, creative problem solving, critical thinking, and the ability to build productive relationships in order to succeed in our fast-paced, highly dynamic environment. This position will oversee the Logistics team and report to the Vice President of Operations. The role is based in our corporate office in Boulder, CO.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead and develop a lean logistics team across warehousing, transportation, inventory control, ecommerce, customer service and consumer affairs, while remaining hands-on in key processes and issue resolution.
· Train, hire, develop, coach, and mentor the team. Responsible for performance management and career development in alignment with Purely Elizabeth (PE) tools and expectations.
· Develop strategic plans to ensure the appropriate resources are in place to service current and future business needs. This includes 3PLs, tools and technology, and internal team resources.
· Be an AI thought leader. Uncover opportunities to utilize AI to drive productivity and reduce cost.
· Ensure the right product is delivered to the right place, on time and in full, meeting customer service expectations at the lowest landed cost.
· Own the budget. Partner with Finance to forecast and report on cost drivers. Identify cost reduction opportunities, methods, and strategies to continuously manage costs.
· Manage the Order Processing function. Ensure customer orders are received accurately. Streamline the process to minimize touches.
· Track & Publish customers’ scorecard metrics (in-stock, on time, violation chargebacks, etc.) Partner with Sales to understand customer requirements and capabilities.
· Deliver On Time & In Full (OTIF). Generate key reports and analyze KPIs (Service levels, fulfillment rates, etc.) to find trends, opportunities, and address potential risks. Develop a “dashboard” to bring visibility to performance across key metrics.
· Work with the Ecommerce & Marketing teams to develop KPIs for Amazon and D2C.
· Track and monitor performance. Drive down cost.
· Perform site visits to plants and distribution centers as needed. Recommend and source new distribution centers.
· Own relationships with key vendors / suppliers. Hold partners accountable to service and cost expectations while unlocking productivity gains. Lead QBRs and support RFP processes for competitive freight and storage rates on a regular cadence.
· Implement SOP’s, analytics and processes/procedures to drive improvement. Analyze, track and drive efficiencies across the entire supply chain
· Safeguard company assets by ensuring 3PL compliance with QA, food safety, and inventory control policy; maintain inventory accuracy, lot traceability, and rotation, and support hold, release, and recall activities.
· Manage all EDI communication. Work with 3PL to streamline work processes and ensure data transmissions are protected and reliable. Seamlessly add new customers, products, 3PLs, and capabilities.
· Work with internal project team to ensure all 3PLs are FSMA 204 compliant. Assist with other project work as required.
· Manage Consumer Affairs. Support efforts to gather feedback, analyze, respond to, and forward as appropriate. Partner with Marketing & Quality to identify trends.
REQUIREMENTS & DESIRED SKILLS
· Bachelor’s Degree required.
· 8 years’ experience in supply chain function including Logistics, inventory, and/or Customer Service. Experience with QuickBooks is a plus.
· Experience in 3PL / co-manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
· Prefer experience in the food, consumer-packaged goods industry.
· 5 years of leadership experience managing execution small teams is a plus.
· Highly motivated, action-oriented and can work in a fast-paced environment.
· Impeccable work ethic, flexible, hands-on and can adapt quickly.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills to work effectively with all stakeholders.
· Creative problem-solver and conceptual thinker with an ability to understand and leverage detail-oriented and analytical issues as needed.
· Above average ability to utilize Microsoft Suite & BI tools
· Strong sense of urgency and ability to influence business partners.
· Comfortable in a lean, high-accountability environment.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
● $120,000- $140,000 annual salary with opportunity to earn annual bonus.
