Job Purpose:

The JavaScript Developer will play a key role in building intuitive, powerful tools that streamline lab workflows and deliver critical insights to users across the scientific ecosystem. This role is ideal for a developer passionate about clean code, smart architecture, and real-world impact.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain backend services using Node.js and Mongoose/MongoDB
• Develop responsive, high‑performance front‑end interfaces using React and Next.js
• Implement UI components using Tailwind CSS and optionally ShadCN UI
• Collaborate with product and design teams to translate requirements into clean, maintainable code
• Write reusable modules, improve code quality, and participate in code reviews
• Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing features
• Contribute to architectural decisions and best practices across the codebase

Education and Experience:

• Three or more years of full stack JavaScript or TypeScript development experience
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript with hands on experience building component based UIs in React
• Production experience with Next.js or similar modern React frameworks
• Proficiency with Node.js and Express.js in production environments
• Experience designing and managing MongoDB data models using Mongoose
• Experience developing secure APIs and implementing authentication mechanisms such as JWT and OAuth
• Familiarity with modern development workflows including Git, CI CD pipelines, and Agile environments
• Strong communication skills and a user first mindset

Bonus Points For:

• Experience working with LIMS, healthcare, cannabis, or other regulated software systems
• Understanding of laboratory workflows, scientific data, or compliance driven applications
• Familiarity with Tailwind CSS and modern design systems; experience with ShadCN UI is a plus
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization tools
• Knowledge of HL7, CLIA, HIPAA, or similar regulatory frameworks
• Experience with GraphQL including schema design or client libraries
• Understanding of server side rendering, caching, and performance optimization
