Role Description This is a full-time Field Service Technician role based in Augusta, NJ, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some tasks to be completed from home. The Field Service Technician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair continuous emissions monitoring systems and related equipment at client sites. Daily responsibilities include performing routine inspections and QA/QC checks, calibrating instruments, documenting service activities, and preparing clear service reports. The role will involve responding to emergency service calls, supporting system upgrades and parts replacements, and coordinating with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure system reliability and regulatory compliance. The technician will also assist with remote diagnostics, participate in safety programs, and maintain tools, vehicles, and test equipment in good working order.
Qualifications
- Technical proficiency in industrial instrumentation, electrical/mechanical systems, or environmental monitoring equipment, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Experience with field service work, including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, calibration, and repairs in industrial or utility environments.
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations related to emissions monitoring (e.g., CEMS, air quality compliance) or a strong willingness to learn quickly.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills, including accurate service logs, calibration records, and clear communication of findings to clients and internal teams.
- Ability to work safely in industrial settings, follow established safety procedures, and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Comfort with a hybrid work model, including travel to client sites from Augusta, NJ, and occasional extended or off-hours service calls as needed.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with a professional approach to working directly with clients and cross-functional colleagues.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to lift and move equipment as required for field work.
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in electronics, instrumentation, environmental science, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in emissions monitoring, power generation, petrochemical, or similar industries is a plus.
