Role Description The Certified Pilates Instructor will deliver safe, effective, and engaging Pilates sessions to clients in an on-site studio environment in San Diego, CA. This part-time role includes teaching group classes and private sessions, with a focus on clients seeking general fitness, corrective exercise, and rehabilitation support. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning class formats, demonstrating and cueing exercises, monitoring client form, and modifying movements to accommodate individual needs and limitations. The instructor will collaborate with other studio professionals such as rehab and massage practitioners to support integrated client care, and will help maintain a welcoming, clean, and organized studio space. Additional duties include greeting clients, answering basic questions about services, and supporting client retention through professional, friendly interactions.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Pilates Instruction, including safe exercise progressions and modifications.
- Experience leading Group Exercise classes with clear verbal and visual cueing.
- Understanding of Physical Therapy principles or corrective exercise concepts to support rehab-oriented clients.
- Strong Customer Service skills with a professional, approachable demeanor in a client-facing environment.
- Teaching skills that support diverse learning styles and promote client motivation and adherence.
- Current Pilates certification from a recognized organization; additional certifications in fitness or rehab are a plus.
- CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain it shortly after hire.
- Ability to work on-site in San Diego, CA, with reliable availability for part-time shifts, including possible evenings or weekends.
