Duties
- Assist the Store Manager in daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to optimize product presentation
- Oversee POS transactions, cash handling, and cashiering duties with accuracy and integrity
- Lead and supervise team members, providing training, coaching, and development to ensure high performance
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints efficiently, and ensure a positive shopping experience
- Support recruiting efforts through interviewing and onboarding new employees
- Manage payroll processing, scheduling shifts, and ensuring proper staffing levels
- Conduct inventory management tasks including purchasing, pricing strategies, and stock organization
- Implement marketing initiatives to promote store sales and brand awareness
- Maintain organizational standards for cleanliness, safety compliance, and store appearance
- Assist with administrative tasks such as bookkeeping, budgeting, and record keeping
Qualifications
- Proven management or assistant manager experience in retail or grocery stores
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
- Proficiency in retail software systems including POS systems and inventory management tools
- Experience with retail math, pricing strategies, and sales management techniques
- Demonstrated ability in customer service excellence and phone etiquette
- Organizational skills with attention to detail in stock control and merchandising
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
