Manager - Marijuana Dispensary (London)

Job Overview
Dispensary managers oversee operations at the dispensary. General job duties include monitoring the inventory of cannabis product, training customer service associates, sales, and security staff, and setting standards and protocols for delivering products and services.

Duties

• Communicating directly with customers to recommend products and answer questions when the sales staff is unable to do so
• To ensure all cannabis products are handled and used properly according to state guidelines and regulations
• Supervise all employees during transactions
• Conducting proper opening and closing procedures daily
• Provide education to medical marijuana patients and non-medical consumers on product types, uses, and dosage to ensure maximum benefit for their qualifying condition or symptoms, or goals
• Assist medical marijuana patients and non-medical consumers in person and by phone with inquiries, questions, or concerns
• Ensure compliance with applicable state and local laws through all stages of the sale of medical or non-medical cannabis
• Provide support to the General Manager and Assistant General Manager, as requested, to ensure daily operations of the dispensary run efficiently and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Train and develop staff to provide exceptional customer service and product knowledge
• Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, ordering, and loss prevention.
• Utilize POS systems for sales tracking and reporting
• Maintain a clean and organized dispensary environment that reflects the brand's values
• Foster a positive work culture that encourages teamwork and communication
• Other duties as assigned by the Regional, General, and Assistant General Manager

Skills

• Knowledge of principles and processed for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standard for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
• Ability to maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to maintain composure during stressful situations
• Must have computer skills with the ability to learn new software and programs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; active listening skills
• Must be detail oriented
• Experience as a retail or cannabis industry manager, or in a similar leadership role is preferred.
• Familiarity with POS systems for efficient transaction processing.
• Ability to manage stock effectively while minimizing waste.
• Excellent team management skills to lead a diverse workforce.
• Capable of developing training programs that enhance employee skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in understanding inventory management and reconciliation
• Work history that demonstrates stability, progressive responsibility, and willingness to accept new duties
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Strong interpersonal communication and service skills
• Must have availability to work weekends, mornings, and nights.
