Schedule: Flexible part-time schedule to be determined

Hours: 20 per week

Summary:

Pure Hockey is a privately owned specialty sporting goods company with more than 100 hockey retail stores and two e-commerce businesses. As a growing organization, we are looking for a Part-Time Accounting Assistant to join our experienced accounting team and contribute to the day-to-day financial operations of the company.

Responsibilities

· Process invoices and obtain appropriate approvals for payment.

· Match checks to invoices and supporting documentation.

· Maintain an accurate and up-to-date check register.

· Record check mailing dates and maintain payment records.

· Reconcile vendor statements and research payment discrepancies.

· Assist with bank reconciliations.

· Research and resolve payment discrepancies and other accounting issues.

· Prepare and mail checks.

· Track weekly accounting documents and ensure records are complete and organized.

· Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail.

· Order deposit slips, bank bags, and other banking supplies.

· Maintain organized accounting files and financial records.

· Assist with accounts payable functions.

· Perform general accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

· Previous experience in accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or a related field preferred.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

· Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

· Ability to identify, research, and resolve discrepancies.

· Strong communication and follow-through.

· Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

· Experience with accounting software is preferred.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Reliable and professional with a strong work ethic.
