PGI is a growing organic herb/spice/botanical importing and production company that utilizes extensive food safety, handling and management practices to ensure a quality product.
Production Supervisor
Position Summary: Is accountable for directing plant production activities to produce quality products, at the lowest cost, consistent with company schedules and policies to fulfill customer requirements.
- Controls and effectively utilizes the production capacity, manpower and equipment and outside resources through planning, organizing and scheduling to minimize losses; works within the framework of the budget to optimize company profitability.
- Oversee the production process
- Identify internal and external resources needed;
- Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed; Partner with Maintenance in the equipment selection process
- Monitor product standards in partnership with Quality dept requirements; implement quality-control programs;
- Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed; • Identify training and development needs for team members.

- Solid understanding of process improvement techniques and systems Knowledge of business, finance and management principles
- Knowledge of human resource principles and practices
- Knowledge of machines and tools
- Bachelor’s Degree Required – Type: Engineering, technical or related field Preferred Attributes Food industry experience
Participates in company planning and budget preparation, capital expenditure recommendation, manpower and space forecasting.
2 years’ experience as a Production/Operations Supervisor
Excellent project management skills • Proven track record of successfully training employees in productivity and safety
Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as a group
Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques
Knowledge of raw materials, Knowledge of quality systems and standards, Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance
2 years’ experience as a Production/Operations Supervisor

Working knowledge of State and Federal regulations related to Plant operations
Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as a group
