The CNC Programmer / Setup Technician is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to manufacture high-precision components. This position involves reading blueprints, selecting tools, optimizing machining parameters, and ensuring quality through inspection processes—all while contributing to continuous improvement efforts in a manufacturing environment.

What will you do?
The CNC Programmer / Setup Technician is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to manufacture high-precision components. This position involves reading blueprints, selecting tools, optimizing machining parameters, and ensuring quality through inspection processes—all while contributing to continuous improvement efforts in a manufacturing environment.
Position Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints and design specifications to determine optimal CNC machining strategies, including tool selection, speeds, and feed rates.
- Program, set up, and operate CNC Mills with 3 and 4 axis and Lathes with live tooling and dual spindles to produce high-precision components.
- Inspect machined parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMM equipment to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Create and maintain inspection documentation and quality control records.
- Evaluate and improve CNC machining processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Train operators on CNC setup, operation, and proper use of precision measuring tools.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on CNC equipment.
- Support and implement process improvements to increase productivity and part quality.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.
- Proficient in Mastercam or similar CNC programming software.
- Skilled in CNC machine setup and programming (Mills and Lathes).
- Experience with CMM, micrometers, calipers, and other precision inspection tools.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

What You Will Need To Succeed
- High School Diploma required; Associate degree or Technical Certificate preferred
- 3–5 years of CNC programming experience.
- 5 years in a CNC machining environment.
- Ability to do some material handling, preventative maintenance, lifting, bending and stooping.
