Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Fort Wayne, IN, with some flexibility for remote work. The Recreational Therapist will work directly with clients to develop and implement individualized therapeutic recreation plans. Daily responsibilities include conducting assessments, setting therapy goals, facilitating recreational activities, monitoring client progress, and maintaining accurate progress notes. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, the therapist will tailor interventions to enhance the well-being and quality of life for individuals with various disabilities.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, and holding a CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) credential
- Experience in maintaining Progress Notes and conducting assessments to document and monitor client progress
- Skills in providing and integrating Art Therapy into recreational treatment plans
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Familiarity with Medicaid Waiver System processes is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field, and certification as a CTRS
