The Service Porter supports the daily operations of the service department by helping maintain an organized, efficient, and customer-focused environment. This role assists with vehicle movement, service lane support, and dealership presentation while contributing to a positive customer experience and overall operational success.
Job description:
Vehicle & Service Lane Support
- Move, park, and retrieve customer and dealership vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist with maintaining organized vehicle flow throughout the service drive, parking areas, and dealership property.
- Support Service Advisors and service department personnel with operational needs throughout the workday.
- Assist with vehicle staging, customer pick-up preparation, and service lane organization.
- Help ensure customer vehicles are handled responsibly and professionally at all times.
Dealership Appearance & Operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service drive, parking areas, customer-facing spaces, and designated dealership areas.
- Assist with basic vehicle preparation tasks such as fuel checks, vehicle washes, vacuuming, or minor appearance support as assigned.
- Monitor dealership grounds and notify leadership of safety, cleanliness, or operational concerns.
- Support dealership events, deliveries, and operational projects as needed.
Customer Experience
- Greet and assist customers professionally when interacting within the service drive or dealership property.
- Help create a welcoming and organized environment that reflects the organization’s commitment to hospitality and customer care.
- Provide courteous and professional interactions with customers, vendors, and team members.
Professional Standards
- Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong attendance record.
- Follow all dealership policies related to safety, vehicle handling, and operational procedures.
- Participate in department meetings, training, and development opportunities as assigned.
- Collaborate effectively with service personnel, leadership, and other dealership departments.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous automotive, customer service, hospitality, or operational support experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
