The Development and Fundraising Intern will support the Development Team in advancing the mission of Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana by assisting with fundraising initiatives, donor relations, event planning, grant applications, and communications. This role is ideal for individuals interested in for-purpose organizations, fundraising, business marketing, or community engagement.
Work Environment: The intern will work in the office environment setting of Meals on Wheels NWI in Merrillville, IN.
Position Responsibilities
Research potential grant applications and funding opportunities.
Assist in preparing grant applications and supporting documents.
Update and maintain donor database with accuracy.
Provide support for fundraising events, campaigns, and community outreach.
Effectively document and complete necessary follow-through on development and fundraising tasks and projects.
Assist in supporting overall Meals on Wheels NWI operations or general administrative support as needed at the direction of supervisor.
Actively contribute toward a welcoming and positive environment for staff and guests.
