About Our Opportunity:
The Staff Registered Nurse for Purdue University Student Health Service (PUSH) will greet patients upon arrival at provider’s office, prepare them for consultation, assess status, and respond to emergency situations. This role will assist the provider with procedures, administer medications, collect/handle specimens, and apply durable medical equipment. This role utilizes patient teaching, referrals, and follow-up as appropriate. The RN will document accurately all procedures, diagnoses, and interventions in electronic health record (EHR) while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Lastly, this role will participate in PUSH staff meetings, psychiatry team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For:
Required:
- Associates degree from an accredited nursing school.
- Active and unencumbered Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BLS certification.
- One year of nursing experience.
- Experience with EHR systems.
- Must have knowledge of disease processes and normal growth and development of all age groups.
- Must operate with cultural sensitivity and interact professionally with diverse racial, ethnic, economic and social backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Ability to assess patient status and respond to emergencies appropriately.
- Thorough knowledge of scientific principles of nursing theory and practice.
- Strong communication skills, including patient teaching.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize to complete duties in a timely manner.
- Must have computer and data entry skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Three years of nursing experience.
