Education and Experience
Qualified Candidates Will Need
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 4 years of relevant work experience operating heavy equipment required. (I.e., backhoe, bulldozer, 1 1/2 ton trucks, front end loader etc.)
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class B) within 90 days of hire
- Ability to maintain CDL eligibility, including successful completion of required medical examinations
- Ability to obtain Competent Person Certification for excavations
- Ability to obtain FAA Certification in Airport Safety and Snow Removal
- Strong leadership and verbal communication skills
- Ability to provide verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, and schematics
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures for heavy equipment
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds frequently
- Ability to climb in and out of equipment multiple times daily
- Ability to work outdoors 90% or more of the time in all weather conditions
- Position requires manual dexterity, coordination, prolonged sitting during equipment operation, and strong visual concentration
- Knowledge of campus buildings and locations preferred
