The Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University invites applications for a Professor of Engineering Practice position at open rank (Assistant/Associate/Full). Purdue University seeks to attract exceptional candidates with teaching and educational interests and expertise in all areas of Industrial Engineering, including Production and Supply Networks, Operations Research, Manufacturing, and Human Factors.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D., or M.S. with more than five years of professional experience, in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Human Factors, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering or a related field by the employment start date. Ideal candidates will have relevant industry experience with demonstrable evidence of leadership. In addition to instructional duties, the successful candidate will work effectively with industry partners and faculty, provide mentoring to students and other program support staff, develop experiential learning activities utilizing laboratory facilities, and perform service both at the School and the University levels as needed. They will have demonstrated skills in innovative pedagogical techniques, project/problem-based learning, and industry applications of current methodologies.
New faculty members will become part of a vibrant community of scholars who are committed to Rethinking IE and helping guide the profession to impact societal grand challenges of the 21st century.
