Purchase Day Campoffers a wide variety of broad-based programming, for campers ages 3-15 years old, reinforcing our philosophy that every camper is different and should have the opportunity to find something that they can enjoy and excel at. Purchase Day Camp is a vital part of who our campers are; they grow, explore and learn about themselves and the world around them in a safe and positive environment, having fun throughout the process. Camp is where a kid can be their true self, creating cherished lifetime memories.
When is Purchase Day Camp?
Purchase Day Camp is an 8 week summer camp that runs June 29th - August 21st, 8:15 am - 4: 15 pm. Camp is closed on July 3rd, providing a long weekend for the 4th of July. No nights or weekends are required!

As a Camp Counselor at Purchase Day Camp, you will play an essential role in creating a safe, fun, and engaging atmosphere for our campers. This position is vital to our mission of fostering personal growth and memorable experiences for children during their summer adventures. Our counselors are comprised of rising high school age juniors and seniors, and college age individuals. You will gain valuable experience making you an ideal to future employers. PDC fosters and teaches real-life learning skills: critical and creative thinking, collaboration, communication and problem solving. Leadership is learned and practiced; where you take initiative, encourage sportsmanship, and positively contribute to our PDC community.
What are your responsibilities?
- Supervise and engage campers in various activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
- Provide support and guidance to campers, fostering their social skills and personal development.
- Manage behavior effectively, promoting a positive camp environment.
- Encourage participation in all activities while being attentive to individual camper needs.
- Collaborate with fellow counselors to create a cohesive team dynamic.
Qualifications
- Must be 16 years old by June 29th, 2026 AND have completed your Sophomore Year of High School.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively and promote positive interactions among campers and fellow staff members.
- Practice Sensitivity, Enthusiasm, and Encouragement.
- Maintain flexibility and adaptability in a group setting.
- Willingness to contribute and participate daily in our camp community.
- Be open to learning and having new, rewarding experiences.
