The Process Engineer operates all process equipment, automation controls, and production systems while observing all Puratos GMP’s, SOP’s, and SQF standards and maintaining high quality standards that meet or exceed Puratos and customer requirements.

Primary Responsibilities
- Operate automated industrial equipment, including changeovers and basic maintenance, in a safe and efficient manner
- Monitor and uphold safety, food safety, quality, and operational standards; escalate issues as needed
- Own safety, quality, and efficiency performance within assigned work center
- Follow all GMPs, SOPs, and SQF requirements
- Start, review, and close production orders using MES and Simatic Batch
- Review and compare recipes in Master Control and MES
- Make approved recipe adjustments in collaboration with R&D and Quality
- Enter downtime, breakdowns, and maintenance requests in SAP and RedZone
- Use RedZone for communication, line status updates, and downtime tracking
- Monitor and report through OEE systems; analyze downtime and recommend improvements
- Troubleshoot quality issues, breakdowns, and downtime events
- Lead and support root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions
- Partner with Engineering and Maintenance on troubleshooting and improvement initiatives
- Identify and support process optimization and efficiency improvement projects
- Develop troubleshooting documentation and support training on best practices
- Provide technical direction and support to line operators (mixing and packaging)
- Support staffing adjustments to optimize production efficiency
- Train new control room technicians as needed
- Support cross-functional teams and plant expansion projects
- Communicate effectively with Maintenance regarding preventative maintenance and work orders
- Perform line cleaning, inspections, and ensure compliance to standards
- Maintain production continuity without compromising safety or compliance
- Cover Control Room Operator and other assigned roles when required
- Maintain good attendance (less than 5 points)
- Work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a skilled operator or controls technician
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience with UHT systems preferred
- Experience with PCS7 or similar automation systems preferred
- Experience in food processing or pharmaceuticals strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently
- Regularly lift up to 55 lbs; up to 75 lbs with assistance
- Frequent standing, walking, pushing/pulling
- Occasional climbing, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and bending
- Constant visual attention (near and far)
- Exposure to noise, temperature variations, dust/fumes, and machinery
- Occasional work at heights and on uneven surfaces
Compensation:
- Compensation for this role is hourly and will be based on your experience, skills, and location, with a typical hourly range between $31.10 and $44.70.
- Additional compensation earned through a 5% targeted annual bonus. Amount based on personal and company performance.
