Duties
- Perform pet grooming services including trimming, and styling to meet client specifications.
- Handle animals with care and confidence, ensuring their safety and comfort during grooming procedures.
- Restrain animals safely using appropriate techniques to facilitate grooming tasks.
- Assist with pet handling, pet sitting, and basic animal care duties as needed to support overall animal well-being.
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming stations, tools, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming needs, health considerations, and special instructions.
- Support veterinary team members with basic animal handling and restraint during procedures if required.
Experience
- Prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience or veterinary technician background is a plus.
- Familiarity with animal restraint methods, pet care routines, and kennel procedures enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Experience working with dogs, cats, or other small animals in a professional setting is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills to build trust and rapport with pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to handle larger animals or equipment safely.
- Previous experience in veterinary assisting or equine environments can be beneficial but is not required.
