Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care to animals by feeding, watering, and monitoring their health and behavior throughout the day
- Assist with animal handling and restraint to ensure safety during examinations or grooming procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas to promote a hygienic environment for pets and staff
- Support veterinary technicians and assistants with basic procedures such as administering medications or preparing animals for exams
- Engage in pet grooming activities including bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to keep animals comfortable and healthy
- Offer pet sitting services by supervising animals during their stay, ensuring they are well cared for and comfortable
- Handle heavy lifting of supplies or animals when necessary to support daily operations
Skills
- Experience with dog training techniques and understanding canine behavior
- Veterinary experience or background as a veterinary technician or assistant
- Skilled in dog handling, animal restraint, and animal care best practices
- Knowledge of pet grooming techniques and pet sitting responsibilities
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper body mechanics
- Animal handling expertise combined with patience, compassion, and attention to detail
