Duties
- Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, styling, and pet coat styling tailored to each dog's breed and individual needs
- Handle dogs safely and confidently using animal restraint techniques and proper handling skills to ensure pet comfort and safety during grooming procedures
- Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and other hygiene tasks with precision and care
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming preferences, pet health considerations, and aftercare instructions
- Maintain a clean, organized grooming station adhering to health and safety standards for animals and staff
- Assist with pet handling during veterinary visits or other animal care activities as needed
- Support team members with kennel cleaning, heavy lifting of animals or supplies, and other related tasks to ensure a smooth workflow
Experience
- Proven experience as a professional dog groomer with a strong portfolio of grooming styles and techniques
- Knowledge of dog training principles and veterinary experience is highly desirable
- Background in veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles is a plus, providing insight into animal health and behavior management
- Familiarity with animal handling, animal restraint methods, and pet care best practices
- Experience working with various breeds including those requiring specialized grooming or handling needs
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners confidently and professionally
- Ability to lift heavy objects or animals safely when necessary for grooming or kennel duties
