Responsibilities
- Assist with daily animal care routines including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health status.
- Handle animals safely and confidently using proper techniques for different species such as dogs and cats.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately following veterinary instructions to support recovery and health maintenance.
- Maintain detailed records of animal treatments, behaviors, and medical histories in compliance with protocols.
- Contribute to animal bios and profiles by providing pictures and notes.
Skills
- Proven experience working with animals in kennel environments or pet care settings.
- Strong knowledge of animal husbandry practices of cats/kittens and dogs/puppies.
- Familiarity with administering medication , signs of stress, and symptoms of various dog/cat diseases/parasites.
- Skilled in reading cat and dog behavior.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members effectively.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting animals or supplies and mopping/sweeping and walking dogs.
