SummaryWe are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and animal-loving Kennel Technician to join our team. The Kennel Technician is responsible for the daily care, health, cleanliness, and well-being of puppies and dogs in our facility. This position requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for animal care.
Daily Responsibilities
- Feed and provide fresh water to puppies and dogs according to established schedules.
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, play areas, food and water bowls, and all animal housing areas.
- Monitor puppies and dogs for signs of illness, injury, stress, or unusual behavior and report concerns to management.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed.Bathe, brush, and provide basic grooming services for puppies and dogs.
- Exercise and socialize animals while ensuring their safety and well-being.Maintain accurate records of feeding, medications, treatments, and animal observations.Assist with puppy arrivals, departures, and transportation as needed.Ensure all puppies are properly cared for and presented for customer viewing and sales.
- Follow all cleaning, sanitation, and biosecurity protocols, including proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management of food, cleaning supplies, and kennel equipment.
- Support veterinary visits and health checks when required.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and assisting customers with puppy interactions.
- Perform opening and closing duties to ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and organized.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous animal care, kennel, veterinary, daycare, or pet store experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Comfortable handling puppies and dogs of various sizes and temperaments.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as needed.
