Qualifications:
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree
- Five (5) years of teaching experience
- Three (3) years of school administrative experience
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:
- Holds Florida certification in Educational Leadership, or Administration and Supervision (including appropriate grade level coverage for advertised vacancy)
- Florida certification as a School Principal or at least two (2) full years of experience as a school principal and a willingness to obtain Florida certification as a School Principal within two (2) years of the date of hire
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience as a Principal

Performance Responsibilities:
- Supervises the school’s educational program.
- Assumes responsibility for the implementation and observance of all School Board Policies and regulations by the school’s staff and students.
- Assists in the development, revisions, and evaluation of the curriculum.
- Assists in the recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluation of school staff.
- Assumes responsibility for the safety and administration of the school plant.
- Delegates authority to appropriate personnel to assume responsibility for the school in the absence of the principal.
- Budgets school time to provide the efficient conduct of school instruction and business.
- Plans and supervises fire drills and emergency preparedness programs.
- Maintains high standards of conduct and enforces discipline while protecting stakeholder due process rights.
- Oversees the implementation of the Student Code of Conduct and board policies regarding student conduct.
- Supervises and evaluates school extracurricular programs.
- Assists in the in-service orientation and training of teachers, with special responsibility for staff administrates procedures and instructions.
- Supervises the preparation and transmission of reports and data, as appropriate.
- Assumes responsibility for the attendance, conduct, and health of students.
- Assists in the management in preparation of the school budget.
- Supervises the maintenance of accurate records on the progress and attendance of students.
- Acts as liaison between the school and the community, interpreting activities and policies of the school and encouraging community participation in school life.
- Conducts staff meetings as appropriate.
- Performs other job-related functions as assigned.
