Qualifications:

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree
  • Five (5) years of teaching experience
  • Three (3) years of school administrative experience

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:

  • Holds Florida certification in Educational Leadership, or Administration and Supervision (including appropriate grade level coverage for advertised vacancy)
  • Florida certification as a School Principal or at least two (2) full years of experience as a school principal and a willingness to obtain Florida certification as a School Principal within two (2) years of the date of hire

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience as a Principal

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Supervises the school’s educational program.
  2. Assumes responsibility for the implementation and observance of all School Board Policies and regulations by the school’s staff and students.
  3. Assists in the development, revisions, and evaluation of the curriculum.
  4. Assists in the recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluation of school staff.
  5. Assumes responsibility for the safety and administration of the school plant.
  6. Delegates authority to appropriate personnel to assume responsibility for the school in the absence of the principal.
  7. Budgets school time to provide the efficient conduct of school instruction and business.
  8. Plans and supervises fire drills and emergency preparedness programs.
  9. Maintains high standards of conduct and enforces discipline while protecting stakeholder due process rights.
  10. Oversees the implementation of the Student Code of Conduct and board policies regarding student conduct.
  11. Supervises and evaluates school extracurricular programs.
  12. Assists in the in-service orientation and training of teachers, with special responsibility for staff administrates procedures and instructions.
  13. Supervises the preparation and transmission of reports and data, as appropriate.
  14. Assumes responsibility for the attendance, conduct, and health of students.
  15. Assists in the management in preparation of the school budget.
  16. Supervises the maintenance of accurate records on the progress and attendance of students.
  17. Acts as liaison between the school and the community, interpreting activities and policies of the school and encouraging community participation in school life.
  18. Conducts staff meetings as appropriate.
  19. Performs other job-related functions as assigned.
