Administrative Assistant, Summer School - Junior School, Grades K-8

Punahou's Junior School (K-8) Summer Program is actively recruiting Administrative Assistants for the 2026 summer session. The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to department management and/or staff. The Administrative Assistant's primary duties include supporting the day to day operations:

• Responsible for student attendance and absences.
• Assists with collating and the distribution of classroom supplies.
• Answers phones, takes messages, screens calls, responds to emails and greets visitors (internal and/or external). Responsible for ensuring that appropriate parties are alerted concerning any issues of significance.
• Responsible for general clerical duties including, but not limited to, managing paperwork, maintaining files and records, handling department mail, data entry, word processing, and making copies.
• Composes and/or responds to routine correspondences.

Position Details:

• Work Year: 1.5 Months
• School Year: Summer School 2026, May 18, 2026 - July 31, 2026 End dates will vary based on operational needs.
• Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Hours may vary depending on operational needs and position
• Minimum Hourly Rate*: $20.00/Hour - Compensation is commensurate with qualifications.
• Punahou School offers a comprehensive total rewards program that includes competitive pay. The pay rate, if displayed, is the minimum hourly rate for the position. Pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors such as knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant training and experience, and internal equity.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two (2) years of administrative experience.
• Experience working in a school environment is preferred.
• Experience working in a fast-paced team environment is preferred.
• Experience with Google docs, Google sheets, Microsoft Excel and Word are preferred.
• Must be able to lift 20 - 25 lbs.
