Substitute Assistant Teacher - Junior School, Grades K-5

Substitute assistant teachers are essential members of our school community; they impact students on a daily basis in meaningful and mission-driven ways through their versatility in the classroom.

Substitute assistant teachers work on an on-call or as-needed basis. They provide a valuable service to our students and assist the classroom teacher in delivering a quality instructional program. The Assistant Teacher will collaborate with teachers to support student learning both inside and outside of the classroom. On the playground, the Assistant Teacher actively ensures the safety and well-being of students, play areas and grounds for safety.  Inside the classroom, the Assistant Teacher will collaborate with teachers to create a teaching team environment that allows for more flexibility and increased opportunities for student-teacher interaction and high quality program of instruction and student support.  The ideal candidates will have the ability to adapt to new environments and provide a classroom environment capable of the smooth delivery of ongoing instructional programs.

Position Details:

• Work Year: 9 Months 
• School Year: 2024-2025 
• Work Hours:  Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Schedule may vary based on operational needs 
• Based on the daily rate of $127.50

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor program in education or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
• One (1) year of experience supervising students in an elementary school setting.
• Familiarity with curriculum, teaching methods and assessment frameworks in the subjects and age ranges; and age-related expectations of students.
