Punahou School is actively recruiting a temporary, full-time English Faculty member for the Spring 2026 semester. The ideal candidate will join a dedicated department that fosters personal and social discovery through the collective practice of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The English Faculty member will model open-mindedness, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence, and their classes will celebrate the beauty of good literature and the emerging ideas and voices of young writers. Position Details:
- Work Year: 5 Months
- School Year: 2025-2026 (Spring Semester)
- Work Hours: Monday - Friday, Between 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Schedule may vary based on operational needs
- Faculty Salary Range*: $46,704 - $94,477, Prorated based on FTE

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Three (3) years of experience in teaching English in a high school setting preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues to support student learning and well-being.
- Broad knowledge of traditional and contemporary American literary texts.
- Ability and passion for working with a broad range of students.
- Demonstrated mastery of instructional technology in the classroom.
