Job Summary:
Pumpkin is looking for a Senior Accountant who will be a critical part of our Finance team. This role will work on key elements of the month-end close, financial reporting, flux analysis and cash flow monitoring. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and thrive in a dynamic environment with high-volume transaction data.
Job Location:
Remote for individuals outside a commutable distance to our NYC office. NYC-based candidates will be considered hybrid with at least two in-office days per week.
Main Responsibilities:
Month-End Close & Reporting
- Prepare and record complex journal entries, accruals, and monthly/quarterly/year-end reconciliations for all GL accounts.
- Prepare internal and external reporting for management and stakeholders.
- Prepare monthly budget-to-actual reports and P&L variance (flux) analyses.
- May help forecast, monitor, and track cash flow.
- May review journal entries prepared by other team members and create complex one-off entries.
Audit & Compliance
- Prepare audit documentation, schedules, and support for annual financial audits.
- Participate in data-related issue resolution and ad hoc analytical requests.
Cross-Functional Support
- Provide support to accounts payables and T&E functions to help ensure timely vendor payments.
- Provide support to FP&A function around management, budget vs actuals and KPI reporting
- Participate in relevant ad hoc projects and cross-functional initiatives as they arise.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including a mix of public accounting and roles within high-growth SaaS, financial services, or other high-volume transaction settings.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Advanced skills in Excel, G Suite, NetSuite, D365, and Mac-based workflows.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables while working independently with limited supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, resourcefulness, comfort with ambiguity, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated accountability, integrity, and ownership.
Salary : $71,000 - $89,000
