Responsibilities
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues in electric motors using schematics, testing equipment, and technical manuals
- Repair and overhaul electric motors, generators, and associated components with precision and efficiency
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other specialized tools to perform repairs
- Perform routine maintenance on motors and related machinery to prevent future failures
- Interpret technical schematics and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot complex electrical systems
- Conduct heavy lifting of motor components safely while adhering to safety protocols
- Maintain detailed service records, repair logs, and inventory documentation for all work performed
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an automotive or equipment service technician with a focus on electrical systems or motor repair
- Minimum 5 years experience in rotating apparatus repair (AC and or/DC electric motors, pumps, blowers etc., preferably in an electric motor/job shop environment
- Receive and interpret oral/ written instructions from supervisor (s) and or/ assigned personnel.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in diesel engine repair, generator repair, or heavy equipment maintenance
- Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical troubleshooting techniques
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other repair tools
- Repair winding/leads and engage connection function
- Engage in in-processing testing
- Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis
- May be assigned to field support service work as required
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Basic sales skills are advantageous for recommending parts or services when appropriate
