Duties

• Supervise daily store activities, ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer service
• Lead, train, and develop team members through effective onboarding, coaching, and performance evaluations
• Manage inventory levels through purchasing, stock replenishment, and inventory control strategies
• Oversee cash handling procedures, cashiering duties, and POS (Point of Sale) system operations
• Coordinate merchandising efforts to optimize product placement and store presentation
• Implement sales strategies and marketing initiatives to boost retail sales and meet targets
• Handle employee scheduling, shift management, and payroll processing with precision
• Conduct interviews for new hires, participate in recruiting efforts, and ensure employee orientation is thorough
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and manage store budgets effectively
• Foster a positive team environment through leadership, communication skills, and conflict resolution

Qualifications

• Proven supervising or assistant management experience within a retail environment
• Strong knowledge of retail math, pricing strategies, and sales management techniques
• Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are a plus
• Demonstrated ability in negotiation, customer service excellence, and employee training & development
• Experience with inventory management systems, POS technology, and cash handling procedures
• Skilled in merchandising, stock management, and store organization
• Ability to manage time effectively while multitasking across various responsibilities
• Knowledge of grocery or general retail stores is advantageous but not required
• Organizational skills with attention to detail in bookkeeping and administrative tasks
• Leadership qualities with a focus on team management and motivating staff toward shared goals
