Responsibilities
Review and prepare surgical plans and patient history preoperatively● Prepare surgical field and assist in patient positioning and prepping ● Ensure availability and sterility of surgical instruments and supplies ● Assist in draping the surgical site ● Communicate surgical plan with RN and certified surgical tech ● Provide exposure of operative site using retractors and tools intraoperatively ● Control bleeding by clamping, ligating, or cauterizing blood vessels ● Handle tissues, cut sutures, and perform wound closure ● Suction, irrigate, or sponge operative site as needed ● Assist with robotic, laparoscopic, and minimally invasive procedures ● Monitor patient vital signs under surgeon or anesthesiologist direction ● Apply surgical dressings and assist patient transfer to recovery postoperatively ● Ensure all instruments and materials are accounted for ● Document operative procedures and observations accurately ● Participate in postoperative patient assessments and wound care
Pay: $90,750.00 per year
