Job Summary:
We are seeking a senior UNIX/Linux Migration Consultant to lead large-scale data center migrations from legacy Solaris and AIX systems to modern platforms including AIX 7.3, RHEL 9, and OpenShift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-of-the-end migration of Solaris/AIX workloads to AIX, RHEL, and OpenShift
- Migrate Solaris LDOMs/Zones to AIX LPARs and RHEL environments
- Convert services (SMF/init systemd) and file systems (ZFS/UFS JFS2/XFS)
- Build and support Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard environments
- Design and execute cutover, DR testing, and stabilization strategies
- Validate applications, scripts (ksh/bash/Perl), logging, and backups
Required Skills:
- Strong experience with Solaris, AIX, and Linux (RHEL)
- Hands-on migration experience (data center / platform migrations)
- Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard expertise
- Experience with LPARs, LDOMs, Zones, and clustering
- Scripting: Bash, ksh, Perl
- Knowledge of OpenShift / containerization
Preferred:
- IBM Power systems (Power10)
- Veritas Cluster / SFRAC
- Backup tools (Commvault, NetBackup)
Note: Looking for highly hands-on engineers with complex migration experience.
