Job Overview/Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Ward Manager to oversee the efficient day-to-day operations of a busy surgical ward. The ideal candidate will combine strong clinical expertise with leadership capabilities, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and team performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage clinical operations on the ward
- Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care
- Supervise and support nursing and support staff
- Manage staff rosters and ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Oversee budget and resource allocation
- Maintain compliance with CQC standards
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and team development
- Act as a role model and uphold professional standards
- Registered Nurse (RN) with valid NMC registration
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience with a strong surgical background
- At least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role
- Strong clinical and decision-making skills
- Proven ability to manage teams and healthcare environments
- Experience managing rosters and staffing
- Knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory compliance
- Experience managing budgets and resources
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and adaptability
- Enthusiasm for innovation in care delivery
- Registered Nurse (RN) qualification
- Active NMC registration
- Leadership training or qualifications (preferred but not required)
