Job Overview/Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Small Animal Veterinarian (General Practice) to join a well-established veterinary team in Irving, TX. The ideal candidate will be proficient in general medicine, surgery, and dentistry, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. While experience is preferred, new graduates seeking mentorship are encouraged to apply and take advantage of an experienced DVM Mentor Network.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to small animal patients.
• Perform routine examinations, diagnostic testing, and treatment planning.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records.
• Communicate effectively with clients to provide education and guidance on pet health.
• Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure quality care.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education.
  
  

Primary Skills

• Proficiency in general medicine, surgery, and dentistry.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  
  

Secondary Skills (Good To Have)

• Experience mentoring veterinary staff or working in a collaborative multi-DVM setting.
• Interest in specialized procedures or advanced veterinary medicine.
• Familiarity with practice management software.
  
  

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
• Active state veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain one).
• Current DEA License preferred but not required.
• USDA Accreditation preferred but not required.
