What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Driver position at Pulaski County Special School District?
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma/GED
- Minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age
- Hold a valid commercial driver's license
- Must pass the district's drug test
REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation / Route Supervisor
JOB GOAL: To provide safe and efficient transportation of students so that they may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's academic and extracurricular programs.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obey all traffic laws.
- Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
- Maintain discipline when students are on the bus.
- Report undisciplined students to the proper authority.
- Keep an assigned bus clean.
- Keep to an assigned schedule.
- Check the bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
- Notify the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
- Discharge students only at authorized stops.
- Exercise responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
- Transport only authorized students.
- Report all accidents and complete required reports.
- Enforce regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
- Report for drug/alcohol testing as required by Board Policy.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary Range: Range 12 - Support Staff Hourly Salary Schedule ($18.10/hr. - $29.66/hr. depending on relevant experience)
Length of Contract: 178 contract days
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Personnel Status: Classified
Benefits Eligible: Yes
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated according to provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Staff Personnel
