Attention: certain duties are particular to case type and court and may not be performed by all employees. For example, relieving the Receptionist and escorting juveniles and parents.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a smoking-restricted office environment.
Minimum Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Completion of high school or GED equivalency; considerable clerical work experience with record keeping in a legal, court system, or related area; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Requirements
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Prefer proficiency with the Spanish Language.

Essential Job Functions
- Answers the departmental telephone to provide information and assistance to callers.
- Performs receptionist duties in the greeting and screening of visitors.
- Relieves the Receptionist as needed.
- Prepares accounts payable vouchers for bills or items purchased for the department.
- Drafts correspondence, memoranda, and various forms for the Judge and staff.
- Prints letters on letterhead as requested by Judge and prepare envelopes for mailing.
- Enters orders signed by the Judge.
- Opens and distributes mail.
- Checks mailbox in clerk’s office and distributes daily.
- Makes travel arrangements and registers the Judge and court staff for seminars as required.
- Prepares payroll time sheets for court employees.
- Establishes and maintains confidential files of court employees' leave information.
- Serves as backup to the Trial Court Assistant if absent by assisting the Judge during court.
- Requests information from schools regarding juvenile performance and attendance.
- Escorts Juveniles to Intake for verification of personal information.
- Escorts parents to counsel with Intake Officer.
- Assists Bailiff with providing jury biographical information to attorneys.
- Scans in jurors during jury orientation and on the day of trial.
- Validates parking tickets of jurors.
- Assists Law Clerk and Trial Court Assistant with reports upon request.
- Processes citizen’s complaints; checks prior convictions and police reports.
- Maintains office records and inventory of supplies.
- Prepares necessary documents to ensure inmates are transported to and from the court.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
- Considerable knowledge of legal terminology, the court system, legal procedures, and practices.
- Considerable knowledge of the preparation and maintenance of legal documents and case files.
- Considerable knowledge of office practices, procedures, equipment, and terminology.
- Some knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Ability to maintain detailed accurate record-keeping systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
- Ability to handle confidential materials in a reliable manner.
- Ability to prepare numerical reports.
- Ability to attend work regularly and reliably.
- Skill in the operation of and data entry into a computer.
- Skill in the use of a computer and applicable software including EXCEL, Word, Contexte, etc.
- Ability to communicate orally in person and by telephone.
- Digital dexterity is needed for keyboard operation.
- Visual acuity is necessary for use of a computer screen.
