Essential Duties
- Washes, sanitizes, and maintains cleanliness of all kitchen utensils, dining room dishes and flatware, and operating equipment.
- Keeps kitchen clean and safe (i.e. mopping of floors, and trash removal), as well as equipment used in work stations.
- Assists other stations as needed (i.e. cleaning and peeling vegetables, food dish-up, and or plating).
- Properly stores all operating equipment and kitchen utensils at the end of each shift and ensures that proper storage requirements for food and beverage products are met.
- Performs side jobs as assigned (i.e. cleaning of walk-ins and reach-in stoves).
- Ensures that dry storage area is swept and mopped daily per shift.
- Ensures that spice racks and bulk food storage containers and lids are kept in a clean and sanitary manner.
- Fills paper towel and soap dispensers daily per Hawaii Health Code.
- Maintains equipment per prescribed standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous training and/or experience as a steward, preferred.
- Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner.
- Requires working to the established procedures and maintaining reliable work attendance.
- Requires good verbal and written communication skills.
- Requires the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Able to think and make effective decisions quickly.
- Ability to create effective working relationships with employees.
- Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and work under pressure.
- Current TB Clearance
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision.
- The employee is required to operate objects, tools, or controls.
