Service Cashier / Receptionist (Noon - 6pm, Part Time)

Description

SUMMARY

Receives customers at the cashier office where you assist customers when they pick up their vehicle from our service department. Receives payment for products or services sold by the dealership and plays a key role in maintaining or creating customer satisfaction for the business transaction.

Serves as a back up to our receptionist; welcomes customers to the dealership, determines the nature of their business, and directs customers to their destination. Answers basic inquiries, routes incoming calls, takes messages, and provides basic information to all customers.

Schedule-

Shift will be from 12pm to 6pm, with 1-2 Saturday's a month, and Holidays as scheduled by supervisor. Saturday shifts will vary based on schedule, Reception Saturday shift would be 9am to 5pm; Cashier Saturday shift would be 8am to 1pm. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Greets customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Prints customer invoices.
• Receives cash, checks and credit card payments from customers; records amount received.
• Makes change and issues receipts to customers.
• Prepares daily cash deposit.
• Provides refunds or credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise or as directed by managers.
• Reconciles cash drawer daily.
• Answers customer questions about service performed or products purchased, or refers them to someone who can.
• Handles customer complaints with integrity and poise and, when necessary, refers dissatisfied customers to the appropriate individuals for resolution.
• Maintains log book of gas transactions.
• Provides clerical and secretarial assistance to departments as needed.
• Acts as backup to Receptionist.
• Maintains a professional appearance.
• Keeps work area neat and clean.
• Keeps current on all training requirements; such as GM training, Compliance training and other training as assigned by manager.
• Sets a good example by maintaining a healthy work demeanor and cooperating with other managers and fellow employees in a positive spirit of teamwork. Represents Puklich Chevrolet Inc. positively when out in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS

• EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.

• REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
