Duties
- Organize and maintain patient medical records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Input and update patient information in EHR systems, verifying the integrity of data entered.
- Retrieve and prepare medical records for healthcare providers as needed for patient care or legal purposes.
- Assist in the implementation and training of staff on EHR systems and best practices for record management.
- Ensure proper handling of sensitive information while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely documentation and record updates.
- Conduct regular audits of medical records to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Establish procedures to be followed in the collection, coding and indexing, and the filing/retrieving of medical records.
Skills
- Proven experience in a medical office environment, demonstrating familiarity with administrative procedures.
- Proficiency in EHR systems, with the ability to quickly learn new software as required.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology to accurately interpret and manage records.
- Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail to maintain accurate records.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for collaboration with healthcare staff and patients.
