What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Tech — Exterior Cleaning, Christmas Light Installation position at Puget Sound Softwash?
$22–24/hr training/starting base, up to $30 /hr with bonuses and tips
Who We Are
Puget Sound Softwash is one of the fastest-growing exterior cleaning companies in the Pacific Northwest. We do roof softwashing, pressure washing, gutter cleaning, window cleaning, and more — and we're building a crew of people who actually give a damn about their work. No babysitting. No hand-holding. Just high standards, good pay, and a company that's going somewhere.
The Role
We're hiring technicians for two-man crews doing residential and commercial jobs across the greater Seattle area. If you've led a crew before — you know the equipment, you can read a job, and you can keep guys moving without being told how — you'll step in as a Lead Tech: running the crew, driving the truck, and owning quality on every job. If you don't have that experience yet but you're a solid worker who's ready to learn, you'll come in as a crew tech and learn directly from someone who's done it — with a real path to leading your own crew.
The one thing that matters no matter your experience level: you need to be genuinely comfortable working up on roofs. This work happens at height, on ladders and rooflines, every day.
What You'll Do
- Work as part of a two-man crew on pressure washing, roof softwashing, christmas light installation, and window cleaning jobs daily
- Get up on roofs and ladders comfortably and safely, every job, every day
- Set up equipment, assess surfaces, and execute the job to spec
- (Lead Techs) Drive the work truck, set the pace, and check quality before the customer does
- (Crew Techs) Follow your Lead's direction and hold your own work to a high standard
- Communicate job status and any issues back to the office in real time
- Keep equipment clean, organized, and flagged for maintenance when needed
- Represent the company professionally at every property
What We're Looking For
- Must be comfortable working at height — on roofs, ladders, and rooflines, in all conditions. This isn't optional.
- Experience in pressure washing, roof cleaning, exterior cleaning, or crew leadership is a big plus — tell us about it and we'll talk Lead Tech pay and truck responsibilities
- No experience? That's fine if you're reliable, coachable, and physically ready for hands-on outdoor work
- Valid driver's license and a clean record required
- Reliable. If you're on the schedule, you show up. If something's wrong, you call — you don't ghost
- High standards — you notice when something isn't right and you fix it before moving on
- Based near Edmonds/Snohomish County or willing to be
Compensation
- $22–24/hr starting base, based on experience
- KPI bonuses that go up to an extra $200/week
- Tips that go up to an extra $200–300/week
- PTO eligibility after 1 year
- Paid training
Growth
We promote from within. Techs who produce and lead well move into Lead Tech — running a crew, driving a company truck, and earning bigger KPI bonuses. From there, the path continues to Production Manager: overseeing multiple crews and setting field standards company-wide. That seat exists. It goes to whoever earns it.
This is an in-person, field-based role. If you're ready to work at height and build something — apply.
