Registered Nurse – 7 On / 7 Off (Evenings/Nights)

Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off | 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM

Wage range: $95,000 to $105,000 mileage reimbursement

Make a Difference—When It Matters Most

We're looking for a skilled, calm, and responsive Registered Nurse to provide after-hours triage and visit-based care during our 7-on / 7-off evening and overnight schedule (5 pm to 8 am). You'll be the steady voice and clinical presence families rely on during moments of uncertainty, grief, or symptom crisis—often when no one else is available.

This role is ideal for an RN who thrives in autonomy, values meaningful one-on-one care, and can balance periods of high acuity with quiet standby time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide on-call clinical triage via phone during evenings, nights, and weekends, assessing patient symptoms and determining appropriate interventions.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans to ensure holistic care.
• Deliver direct patient care, including administering medications, providing pain management, and effectively managing symptoms through in-home visits as needed, which may include death pronouncements or urgent family/caregiver support.
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary hospice team (physician, social work, chaplain, aides) to ensure coordinated and high-quality care.
• Offer compassionate emotional support to patients and their families, fostering a supportive environment during end-of-life care.
• Educate patients and families on end-of-life care, symptom management techniques, and available resources.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), promptly reporting any changes in condition.
• Ensure full compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards specific to hospice care.
• Adhere to a consistent 7 days on / 7 days off schedule to ensure continuity of care and promote work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Active Washington State RN license (or compact license if applicable)
• Hospice experience is a must have requirement
• Strong assessment and communication skills, especially in emotionally sensitive situations
• Ability to work independently and manage time and priorities effectively
• Reliable transportation for in-home visits; valid driver's license and auto insurance
• Comfortable with EMR systems (experience with HCHB or similar is a plus)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
