Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process retail sales transactions with accuracy and speed
- Greet customers warmly, offering assistance and answering questions about products and store services
- Handle cash register operations, including cash handling, balancing cash drawers, and processing credit/debit card payments
- Upsell products and promote store specials to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring excellent customer service
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and assist with merchandising to create an inviting shopping environment
- Conduct product demos when needed to educate customers about new or featured items
- Maintain professional phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are essential
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse customers and team members
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and balancing the cash drawer at shift end
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, enabling better service for our diverse customer base
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, and retail math is highly desirable
- Experience supervising or guiding team members is advantageous but not mandatory; leadership qualities are appreciated
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform physical tasks related to stocking and merchandising
