Substitute Teacher Early Childhood Education

Job Summary:

Puffer Child Care Center is a high-quality non-profit 5-Star Early Education Center located in Morrisville, VT. We serve children ages 6 weeks-5 years old, year round. PCCC is looking for per-diem substitutes who have the ability to support any of our three classrooms (Infant, Toddler, & Preschool). Ideally these candidates will have availability to cover between the times of 7:00-4:00 as well as to cover pre-planned teacher absences.

This role has been known to entail a fast paced environment. Someone who is able to be on their feet, react promptly to situations, and the ability to adapt to the needs of the students and environment is a must. Ideally this candidate will enjoy interacting with all age groups and will work closely with their co-teacher(s) to ensure a safe environment with consistent quality interactions and communication.

Responsibilities:

-Adhere to all Vermont Public Health and CDD Child Care Licensing Regulations
- Create a safe and engaging classroom environment

- Communicate and collaborate effectively and clearly with co-workers
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to promote a positive learning atmosphere
- Follow classroom and Center cleaning responsibilities

- Adhere to all job responsibilities within specific job description

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

Other requirements for this position include:

· Excellent communication skills with both young children and adults.

· Demonstrated competency in engaging in effective, nurturing interactions with children.

· Ability to meet physical demands of working with young children in a center-based setting, including regularly lifting 50-60 pounds; frequently standing, walking, climbing, stooping/bending, squatting/crouching; and occasionally running/sprinting.

. Ability to be outside in all types of weather for up to 60 minutes a day.

. Ability to pass background and fingerprinting.

. CPR and First Aid Certification obtained within the first three months of employment.

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
