Cashier/Sales Associate (FT-PT)

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions efficiently and securely
• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and offering product recommendations
• Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities
• Handle cash register operations including cash handling, cash drawer management, and balancing registers at shift end
• Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and organizing inventory to ensure an attractive shopping environment
• Maintain phone etiquette when communicating with customers over the phone or in person
• Support supervising staff during busy periods and assist with training new team members in retail procedures
• Promote store promotions and upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
• Ensure compliance with store policies on cash handling, security procedures, and safety protocols

Skills

• Proven experience with POS systems and retail sales transactions
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs
• Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities in a retail setting
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and stock management
• Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and retail math calculations
• Experience conducting product demos and upselling techniques to enhance sales performance
• Familiarity with grocery store or retail environment is advantageous
• Excellent phone etiquette for professional communication over the phone
• Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: $21.88 - $26.35 per hour
