TITLE: GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT

Job Duties / General Requirements

The General Superintendent will report directly to the Vice President of Installation. The General Superintendent is responsible for leading and managing a team of superintendents, foremen, and install technicians from a specific trade to deliver exceptional quality and customer service to our clients. The General Superintendent will be closely working with Project Operations Teams to understand the goals and direction of the company and lead their team to generate profits.

Job Duties

  • Responsible for managing the trade labor and manpower requirements of all projects within the Pueblo portfolio.
  • Plan, organize, direct and control all trade specific activities.
  • Supervisor of all trade specific functions including, but not limited to, safety, quality, planning, scheduling, material control, rentals, trade labor performance and customer communication.
  • Develop and provide labor reports and project level labor forecasting to Project Operations Teams.
  • Assures all trade personnel comply in strict accordance with contract documents, specifications, budgets, procedures, safety requirements, quality expectations and company policies.
  • Responsible for assuring that all trade personnel have all required reports properly filled out and processed as required. This is to include reporting on crew time, safety, quality, production, schedule or projection reporting at both project and portfolio levels.
  • Oversees the assignment of Superintendents, General Foreman, Foreman and trade labor across the Pueblo project portfolio.
  • Provide leadership, coordination and support for all internal Pueblo departments on behalf of your team. Including, but not limited to, Human Resources, Finance/ Accounting, Safety, Quality, Service Group, Sales, Pre-construction, Purchasing, Facilities, Project Operations, Start-Up and Warranty.
  • Participate in the supervision of subcontractor activities and subordinate staff across the Pueblo project portfolio.
  • Provides vision for project planning, coordination, sequencing and labor utilization.
  • Oversees the development of each project build plan in conjunction with the Project Operations Team.
  • Communicates issues, events and provides performance updates to the Executive Team.
  • Develop a high performing team through supervision, training, coaching and mentoring.
  • Ensures strict adherence to ethics and compliance throughout the build process.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure quality of work meets and/or exceeds acceptable industry standards.
  • Complete Quality Assurance analysis on projects to prevent repeated discrepancies, call backs and warranty work.
  • Perform job-site visits and project reviews to ensure installation is compliant with project requirements.
  • Manages the Quality Assurance expectations and requirements for the team. Including the oversight of project level quality inspection requirements.
  • Serves as the trade leader and champion of the quality of our teams’ installation.
  • Works directly with the Quality Assurance Team to develop and implement the quality processes, expectations and performance requirements for applicable trade.

Human Resources

  • Recognize and track the progress of employee’s performance evaluations for the trade and properly nominate individuals for promotions and/or incentive bonuses per Pueblo protocols.
  • Interviewing prospective employees, making recommendations and approving new hires.
  • Manage the payroll time submission process within applicable trade.
  • Responsible for maintaining the appropriate roster of trade workers to perform the work within the Pueblo project portfolio. This includes talent and capacity management of the trade labor.
  • Be an active participant in the training and mentoring of our skilled labor trade. This includes, but is not limited to, having an active role in the Pueblo apprenticeship program, developing talent, succession planning, coaching, evaluating and promoting the advancement of our team members.

Safety

  • Assures all Pueblo Mechanical and project specific safety requirements are met.
  • Responsible for ensuring all staff have their personal protection equipment on at all times.
  • Coordinate with safety officer for jobsite visits and ensuring a safe jobsite.
  • Conducts safety inspections on jobs, assures jobs are following all established Pueblo standards and all trade members are strictly following established safety protocols. Including, but not limited to, meetings, inspections, documentation, communication protocols and performance.
  • Manages the safety expectations and requirements for the team. Including the oversight of project level safety inspection requirements.
  • Serves as the trade leader and champion of our teams’ safety performance.
  • Works directly with the Safety Team to develop and implement the safety processes, expectations and performance requirements for applicable trade.

  • Proactively build and maintain relationships within all Pueblo functions.
  • Proactively communicate with all support functions on behalf of your team.
  • This position is a catalyst of continuity between the skilled trades and all other functions within our business.

Client Relationships

  • Champion of the Pueblo Brand in the marketplace.
  • Proactively build and maintain relationships with current and future clients.
  • Proactively communicate with entire construction team at all times.
  • Develop customer solutions to make sure issues never become problems.

Subcontractor and Vendor Relationships

  • Proactively develop relationships with subcontractors and vendors to support future growth and opportunities.
  • Be proactive when scheduling subcontractors and vendors to ensure overall success of the project.

General Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical and trade specific conflict resolution skills are critical
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft office software
  • Must be self-motivated and punctual
  • Must have excellent follow up skills both internally and externally
  • Must be professional in appearance and speech
  • Proficiency and understanding of trade labor management, labor scheduling and labor forecasting
  • Must have ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules
  • Must be proficient the methods, materials, scheduling and cost control within all divisions of work applicable (HVAC & P)
  • Ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities between Pueblo’s business needs and organizational issues while maintaining excellent customer relations
  • A strong sense of urgency and initiative, with the ability to be a quick study and react to complex issues effectively

THIS IS A SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION.

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
