Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Police Officer within the Pueblo Police Department, located in Pueblo, CO. The Police Officer will be responsible for protecting life and property, enforcing laws, preventing and investigating crimes, and responding to emergencies. Day-to-day tasks include patrolling assigned areas, maintaining public order, conducting detailed investigations, and collaborating with community members to address and resolve safety concerns. The role also involves preparing detailed reports, testifying in court, and performing other duties as assigned to support public safety efforts.
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with diverse individuals and document incidents effectively
- Proficiency in problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making in high-pressure situations
- Physical stamina and fitness to perform job duties, including patrolling, pursuing suspects, and managing emergencies
- Knowledge of law enforcement practices, public safety procedures, and criminal laws
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with community members
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in criminal justice or related fields is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet minimum age and background requirements for law enforcement personnel
