Position Summary
The Interventional Radiology Surgical Technician must have a current CST and is responsible for assisting physicians and nursing staff in performing all types of interventional radiology procedures. Responsible for adhering to LVIC and AAAASF policies, procedures and training requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure patients are properly roomed based on appointment time.
- Triage patients and assist with prepping the patient for their exam including directing them to changing rooms to gown, performing screening questionnaires, stocking rooms with supplies, etc.
- Monitor the schedule for improper tagging of patients and strive to minimize waiting times.
- Document reasons for delays.
- Work with the Tech Aide, Tech Manager, and Director of Radiology to assist with developing protocols to improve the flow of patients.
- Assist with sending biopsy specimens to the lab for pathology.
- Verify patient information, prior exams and history, and thoroughly document necessary information in RIS system.
- Assist with mammography letters and mammography tracking to ensure PMI is compliant with current protocols.
- Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Active CST- Please attach your certificate with your application.
- Two years of previous surgical technician experience.
- ARRT certification preferred.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to do essential job duties.
- Ability to read, understand, speak and follow English instructions. Bilingual preferred.
- Display superior interpersonal skills for effective communication with patient and peers.
- General knowledge of insurance benefits.
- Must be able to type 25 words per minute.
