Pharmacy Technician
Starting Pay Range $19.10 - $22.47
Job Summary: Pharmacy Technician is responsible for delivering medication and pharmaceutical care in communities that are most in need. This includes developing close relationships with patients in communities we serve and assisting the pharmacists in accurately preparing and delivering prescription medication.
Reports to: Director of Pharmacy
Supervision Exercised: None
Education/Experience/License/Certification:
- High school degree or equivalent
- Active Pharmacy Technician License from the State of Colorado in good standing, or Pharmacy Technician Provisional license from the state of Colorado is required.
- PTCB Certification preferred or willingness to become PTCB certified within 18 months as dictated by the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy.
- Two years pharmacy technician related experience preferred.
- Retail pharmacy experience preferred.
- 340B experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance as required by law.
Required Travel: Frequent travel is required including day-to-day local travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Adhere to the guidelines and procedures of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.
- Maintain professional working relationships at all times, with the pharmacy personnel, physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel.
- Understand that the requirements of working in a pharmacy are varied and may change as demands on the department change.

- Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Assist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policy under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Organizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by profiling prescriptions, preparing labels, and calculating quantities.
- Ensure medication availability by registering all related sales on cash register, collecting and handling cash as required and ordering medications when needed. Performs duties as assigned by Pharmacy Director, Staff Pharmacist utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs. reports, prescription errors to pharmacist on duty.
- Ensures pharmacy safety by answering telephones and acknowledging patients present at the pharmacy and attending to them, thus freeing the pharmacist to focus on prescription verification and other duties.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Works with pharmacy team to ensure best practices are being followed with regards to 340B.
- Maintain active licensure and all requirements of such.
- Promptly complete all necessary trainings and certifications.
