Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training for CDL candidates, covering all aspects of commercial driving including safety protocols, vehicle operation, and regulatory compliance
- Assess student progress through practical evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support their development
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and certification status in compliance with industry regulations
- Stay current with federal and state CDL requirements, incorporating updates into training materials and instructional methods
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages questions, participation, and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with administrative staff to schedule training sessions and ensure smooth program operations
- Promote safety awareness by emphasizing best practices and responsible driving habits throughout all training activities
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving or transportation industry; prior instructional experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of federal and state CDL regulations and testing procedures
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage diverse learners
