Description

supervise a highly demanding shift of security officers responsible for safe-guarding property against illegal entry, fire, theft and vandalismensure the presence of required security officers to fulfill all necessary tasks for shift or facilityensure the quality of performance of security officers, patrol area of responsibility, maintain schedules, make frequent patrol rounds, maintain daily activity log, and complete incident reportsenforce all Publix security policies and procedures, detain and question person(s) as requiredreport directly to the Manager of Security Operations, but will work with facility management in matters of safety, security and loss controlcomplete other security duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Security officer and/or security clerk experience
• Must be at least 20 years of age with a valid driver’s license
• Working knowledge of Word, Access, Excel and Outlook
• Able to withstand walking and standing for long periods of time
• Excellent supervisory skills
• Able to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended periods of time
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to use a two-way radio
• Able to work well with others and be a team member
• Enthusiasm, initiative, pride in work and a

Preferred Qualifications

• Three (3) years security experience
• One (1) year of general supervisory experience
• Possess a Class "D" Security Officer's License or independently obtain a Class "D" Security Officer's License within 90 days of the hire date.

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.

Other Compensation Information

• Weekend differential:

  A $2.00 per hour weekend differential is paid to associates for hours worked between 12:00 a.m. Saturday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
