What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Dietitian - Emerging Business Development - Lakeland position at Publix?
We are seeking a Corporate Dietitian to join our Health and Wellness team! The purpose of this position is to support all business areas to help differentiate Publix and enhance customer satisfaction by improving awareness of our nutritional products, programs and services, and by improving our associates’ ability to assist customers in identifying products that meet the customers’ diet or nutrition needs. As a licensed health care provider, the incumbent will create differentiation and maximize sales/profits by providing expertise in food and nutrition across all business areas, departments, and retail stores.

- serving as the consultant/coach for all customer-facing nutritional claims and programs in the following key business areas: Category Teams, RBU’s, Meals, Pharmacy and Emerging Business
- developing, supporting, and maintaining nutrition programs so that customers with specific dietary needs (disease state, diet and nutrition) can better utilize Publix to manage their diets
- assessing associate training needs and developing appropriate diet and nutrition courses or programs
- serving as the internal SME (Subject Matter Expert) to Marketing and Public Affairs for diet, nutrition and disease state information communicated in customer communication, internal marketing materials, customer responses, P.com information, and social media
- ensuring regulatory compliance and providing regulatory oversight and guidance for all customer-facing nutritional activities for Publix
- supporting the Customer Wellness team with expertise as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in dietetics or nutrition or a related degree from an ACEND (Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics) accredited program
- completion of supervised practice experience from an ACEND accredited internship or completion of an ACEND accredited coordinated undergraduate program that combines classroom and clinical experience
- 2 years’ experience in clinical dietetics, food and nutrition management, community nutrition or other areas of practice
- registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) which qualifies incumbent to use the title Registered Dietitian Nutritionist or RDN
- meets all licensure, statutory certification, or registration requirements in all states in which Publix operates. (Currently, all Publix states except South Carolina have requirements in addition to the CDR, and these requirements vary by state.)
- knowledge of Food & Drug Administration (FDA) labeling regulations regarding the nutritional content of consumer-packaged goods to ensure legal compliance regarding federal requirements for nutritional statements
- knowledge of public health and disease state trends such as diabetes or heart conditions
- knowledge of government and leading health organizations’ recommendations for nutrition and health
